Why I Want Skincare To Be As Simple As Toothpaste

This is your blog for Thanksgiving week and I want to say that I am truly thankful for anyone who takes the time to read my posts. I hope you enjoy this week’s blog as well.

I am learning about marketing in a deeper way these days, and one book that has already changed how I think is Made to Stick. The book explains why some ideas stay with us and why others disappear. One of the most important concepts is the curse of knowledge. When you know a subject very well, you stop seeing it the way others see it. You assume people understand what you understand. You assume the meaning is obvious when it is not.

As a scientist and a founder this happens to me often. I live inside the world of microbes, activation, living cultures, stability tests, and fresh formulations. I know exactly why my product works and what makes it different. But I realized that other people do not start from where I start. They start from confusion. They start from the crowded shelves. They start from ten step routines. They start from marketing that tells them more is better.

So I asked myself a simple question. What is the one clear idea that would help people understand the vision of my brand in the simplest way. My brand, my product, is about being alive! That’s that, but why should anyone care?

That question led me to an analogy that I now love. Toothpaste.

We all brush our teeth twice a day. The routine is simple. The goal is clear. And we all use the same product morning and night. We do not search for ten different toothpastes. We do not layer them. We do not change them every week. The habit works because it is simple and consistent and because it supports the natural biology inside our mouths.

Our skin also has a living system. It has a microbiome that needs daily support. It does not need many layers. It does not need a cabinet full of bottles. It needs one product used consistently, the same way we use toothpaste.

This is the heart of my vision. I want skincare to become a simple habit that works with your biology, not against it. One product. Twice a day. And with my product there is something even more important. It is alive when you use it. It wakes up when you activate it. You get living activity on your skin, not preserved formulas from years ago.

The more I read the book Made to Stick, the more I realized that this idea has all the elements of a message that stays with people. It is simple. It is unexpected. It is concrete. It is credible. It has emotion. And it carries a story. It also removes the curse of knowledge that I often fall into. Because instead of trying to explain science in a complicated way, I can show people a picture. Toothpaste on one side. Ten skincare bottles on the other. And then I can show them the alternative. One living product placed next to the toothbrush, ready to be used morning and night.

This is the idea I want to keep building. A living skincare product that becomes as natural and simple in your daily life as brushing your teeth.

If I can help people see skincare this way, then I know the message will stick. And I know my product will make more sense in their minds and in their routines. And you know what, this one simple concept can have a real impact on our environment because it cuts waste and helps all of us finally enjoy a decluttered vanity.
