Hello, readers and enthusiasts of the skin microbiome. Welcome to my inaugural blog post, which I hope is the first of many. My journey in formulating biological products, particularly live cell probiotics for topical skin care applications, has been both rewarding and challenging. It’s no surprise that probiotic skincare is not yet a market staple. However, I’m excited to share that I’ve discovered a method, surprisingly simpler than anticipated. of course, I could not have solved this puzzle without 15 years of experience in developing and launching biological products across various industries. Although I’m eager to complete the testing phase and introduce the product, I’d like to share an intriguing fact: we are merely 10% human. Indeed, only 10%! Our bodies are home to a multitude of microorganisms, with microbial cells outnumbering human cells by a ratio of 10 to 1. So why don’t we resemble microbes? It’s because microbial cells are minuscule. In terms of size, human cells dominate and comprise the majority of our body mass. These microscopic microbial cells, invisible to the naked eye, are essential; our human cells rely on them for enzymes, metabolites, and functions beyond their capabilities.
I hope you’ve gained some new insights today! Until the next blog, cheers!
