Mine began at the intersection of all three, and with my own skin.
Growing up in Persian culture, I was surrounded by beauty rituals rooted in balance rather than correction. Natural remedies, fermentation, and respect for the body’s rhythms were part of everyday life. Beauty was never about doing more. It was about doing what made sense for your skin.
Still, like many people, I struggled with my own skin over the years, cycles of breakouts, sensitivity, and products that worked briefly and then stopped. Even as a scientist, I felt the disconnect between what skincare promised and how skin actually behaves.
That tension stayed with me.
A Scientist, A Mother, A Problem to Solve
My professional life took me deep into microbial formulation and product development. For over 15 years, I worked with small and large companies to turn microbial ideas into real, high-impact products. I saw microbes trusted to support balance across complex living systems, from agriculture to nutrition, where long-term stability mattered more than quick fixes.
Working with living systems reshaped how I thought about skin. I learned that when biology is supported rather than disrupted, it does quiet, consistent work over time.
Then motherhood made the question personal again.
When my children began experiencing their own skin challenges, I wasn’t looking for harsher solutions or longer routines. I was looking for something gentler. Something that respected skin as a living system, the same way I had learned to respect every other biological system I worked with.
The Birth of Fafabiotic
Fafabiotic was born from a simple but unconventional idea:
What if skincare worked with skin instead of trying to control it?
Instead of layering products designed to correct individual concerns, I began exploring how to support skin through simplicity and consistency. The goal wasn’t instant transformation. It was stability. Comfort. A routine that skin could tolerate day after day.
By bringing together my cultural roots, my scientific background, and my personal experience, I began developing a one-step skincare approach built around thoughtfully formulated, live probiotic components, designed to complement the skin’s surface rather than overwhelm it.
That became the foundation of Fafabiotic.
