This week’s blog is dedicated to my daughter, who just turned 13.

To celebrate her birthday, we spent mother daughter time in New York. Or maybe it was boss employee time. You can decide who is really in charge.

We wandered through the city we both love, walked more than we planned, visited museums, talked about big dreams, and yes, did quite a bit of shopping. By shopping, I mean she did the shopping.

There is something different about 13. She is no longer a little girl, yet not quite grown. She has opinions. Strong ones. She notices everything. She asks thoughtful questions about business, about people, about the world. And yes, she just started teasing me too. Not at the level of her brother, who is almost 18, but we are getting there. I suppose this is my official welcome to the teenage years.

At the end of each long day, we would get back to the hotel completely exhausted. I am middle aged. Please give me some grace.

And this is where I quietly smiled.

My bedtime routine was so simple. Everything fit in my carry on. I took a shower, brushed my teeth in the shower, and used my one step Fafabiotic lotion. That was it. No layers. No complicated steps. No clutter on the hotel sink.

Just living skincare doing what it is meant to do.

Travel always reminds me why I built Fafabiotic the way I did. I did not want a 10 step routine. I did not want something heavy, harsh, or performative. I wanted something that works in real life. For busy women. For traveling moms. For women building companies. For women raising daughters who are watching.

This blog is for her.

For the girl who proudly calls herself Chief Creator Officer.
For the one who reminds me to stay playful.
For the one who sees the hard work behind the scenes.
For the one who is stepping into her teenage years with curiosity and strength.

And maybe one day she will read this and know

She has always been part of this story.
