In skincare, samples are expected. Most brands can easily create mini versions of their products and hand them out. For Fafabiotic, that was never straightforward.

Our products contain living and active probiotic cells. To keep them viable, they require assembly and activation. That system does not scale down easily. Creating a true mini version with the same container and activation experience turned out to be technically and operationally impossible.

Still, customers kept asking for samples, and I understood why.

Trying a new skincare product always involves uncertainty. Trying one from a small, unfamiliar brand adds another layer of hesitation. Samples are not just about texture or scent. They are about trust. They reduce the fear of the unknown and give people a low-risk way to learn.

After more than a year of thinking through alternatives, we landed on the most honest and practical solution.

Our sample set includes pre-activated probiotics and the lotion base. This means you won’t experience the activation step yourself, but you can experience the product on your skin. You can patch test, feel the texture, see how the probiotic and lotion mix in your hand, and try one or two applications.

This sample is not meant to replace the full experience. It’s meant to provide clarity, comfort, and confidence before committing.

Even with this approach, logistics remain complex. Because the probiotics are activated before shipment, orders must be carefully timed and shipped weekly to ensure freshness. As a small brand, every additional step requires hands-on work and constant adjustment.

But this matters.

Being a small brand often means limited visibility. Samples are one way to invite people in, lower barriers, and turn curiosity into experience. They help us reach new customers while staying honest about what our products are and how they work.

I’m proud of this solution. Not because it’s perfect, but because it reflects the reality of working with biology and the responsibility of building trust thoughtfully.
